What is Lofi?
Lofi is an Activity developed by Discord. Vibe with your friends with lofi music and a curated ambience 🎶✨.
How to Start Lofi
At this time, Lofi is available on the Discord desktop app and browser app. There are many different ways you can launch Lofi in Discord for you and your friends! Whether in a server’s voice channel, in a direct message (DM), or a group message, you can check out Activities on Discord for instructions on how to start any Activity.
How to Use Lofi
Music
Lofi is a co-listening experience where lofi music is shared for everyone in the session, including the current song, play/pause state, and volume.
Example of the current song playing
You can select the mood of the playlist by selecting the music icon in the bottom left (desktop) or on top of the bottom bar (mobile) and selecting your preferred vibe. Any listener can start, pause, or go to the previous/next music track on the playlist using the media controls at the bottom of the screen.
Soundscapes
Soundscapes are additional sound effects you can add to your experience to further curate your ambience. Like music, these are shared for everyone in the session.
Every scene has recommended sound effects that match the scene and can be adjusted via the white dots. These effects sometimes also impact the visuals of the scene, such as changing the weather from sunny to rainy. All effects can be accessed by clicking on the volume icon on the bottom right.

Volume Controls
Lofi volume controls are split into two categories: “Personal” and “Shared”.
Music and soundscape volumes are shared, meaning anyone adjusting them changes it for everyone. This can be used to adjust the relative volume of each soundscape & the music.
Lofi also has a “Main Volume” that is personal and affects the volume of the whole Activity. Turning it up will make everything louder for you, while turning it down (or muting it entirely) will make everything quieter. You can use this to adjust the overall volume of the Activity for just you, allowing you to blast music in just your ears even if your friends want it quiet.
Access the controls for all volumes by clicking on the volume icon in the bottom right of the Activity.

Scenes
Scenes are the backgrounds of Lofi and can be changed to curate your vibe, transporting you into a cozy cafe, warm treehouse, beachhouse, and more. The scene is shared, so changing the scene changes it for everyone.
You can select different scenes using the Scenes button on the bottom bar. Use the left and right arrows to scroll through the options and select your favorite.

If the scene allows, scenes can adjust from day to night using the toggle in the lower right corner. Additionally, some soundscapes may also affect the scene. Explore around to discover your favorites!
