What Is Jamspace Whiteboard?
Jamspace Whiteboard is a collaborative whiteboard right inside Discord. You can use tools to draw, write text, add images, upload images, add shapes, and search for and post GIFs and Stickers! Boards are saved automatically, so you can come back to your creations over and over again over multiple sessions. It’s not just what you create, it’s the fun of creating it together!
Starting Jamspace Whiteboard in Discord
There are many different ways you can launch Jamspace Whiteboard in the Discord app for you and your friends! Whether in a server’s voice channel or in a direct message, you can check out How to Use Apps for instructions on how to start any Activity.
Before starting any Discord Activity on Desktop, please make sure to turn on Hardware Acceleration in User Settings > Advanced.
How to Use Jamspace Whiteboard
You can use Jamspace Whiteboard to create anything you like, from drawings to diagrams to fun birthday cards, but here are some hot tips!
Create & Find Saved Boards
When you open Jamspace Whiteboard, you’ll land on the board that was most recently updated within the channel. If you’d like to use a different board, you can create a new one or navigate to an existing board
1. Tap the hamburger icon (also known as the menu icon) in the top left corner of the board.
2. Browse the boards that are stored in the channel.
3. Tap to open a board, or create a new one.
Your boards are automatically saved to the channel or group message that it was created in. You can create, and view all boards in that space, from the board menu. If a board is not active for 90 days it will expire.
Drawing
1. Bring up the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select the icon that looks like a pencil.
3. Choose a default color or one from the color picker.
4. Create a masterpiece!
Sticky Notes
1. Bring up the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select the icon that looks like a paper sticky note.
3. Change color or font.
4. Press on the board to place the Sticky Note, and write on it!
GIFs & Stickers
1. Bring up the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select the GIF icon.
3. Press the Sticker tab or the GIF tab, search in the text field.
4. Choose the Sticker or GIF you want, it will be placed on the board.
Upload Images & GIFs
1. Bring up the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select the Image icon (looks like an image with a “+”)
3. Select an image or GIF from your device’s files / photos (accepted file formats are: .png, .jpeg, .jpg, and .gif)
4. The image or GIF will automatically be placed on the board.
Shapes
1. Bring up the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select the Shape icon.
3. Choose a shape, color, and whether it is filled or hollow.
4. Place a shape on the board by either tapping to place, or selecting and dragging.
Writing
1. Bring up the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select the Tt icon.
3. Choose a font and color, and write anything you like with your keyboard (analog or digital).
Note: Jamspace Whiteboard is an activity that allows everyone in voice to join (unlimited participants) but is optimized for up to 12 participants at the same time. More people can join the activity, but performance may decline when more people are interacting with the whiteboard, and the more elements placed on the board.
Board Access
Boards are saved within a channel or a direct message group. Anyone with access to that channel/group will have access to the boards within that space. If you wish to limit who can access the boards, you can create a private channel or group to use Jamspace Whiteboard in.
How to share an image of a board
You can share an image of the canvas by selecting the Share icon at the top, and copying the image URL or sending the image directly through Discord to any channel or Direct Message of your choice. From there you can download the image file.

Q: Is there an age requirement?
A: There is no age requirement for Jamspace Whiteboard. By using the Jamspace Whiteboard activity you are agreeing to follow Discord Community Guidelines.
Q: What platform is Jamspace Whiteboard available on?
A: Jamspace Whiteboard can be used on the Discord desktop app, web browser, or mobile and tablet apps.
Q: How can I limit access to boards?
A: Boards are saved within a channel or group message, anyone with access to that channel/group will be able to access the boards saved in that space. If you want to limit who can access a given board, you can create it in a private channel or group message with just those users. The creator of a given board can also delete it at any time.
Q: Can I download an image of my Jamspace Whiteboard?
A: You can Share an image of the canvas by selecting the share icon at the top, and sending the image through Discord to any channel or Direct Message of your choice. From there you can download the image file.
Q: Who can edit/delete things I’ve made in Jamspace Whiteboard?
A: Anyone in the activity session can draw, delete objects, and move or resize any object on the whiteboard canvas. You can only edit text you have written, you cannot edit text that others have written.
Q: What GIFs and Stickers can be used in Jamspace Whiteboard?
A: Jamspace Whiteboard has a built-in GIF & Sticker library that you can search from inside the Activity.
To provide an enjoyable experience for the widest range of Discord users, we may use certain content filters so some GIFs & Stickers may not appear in the search results. Your “favorite” GIFs and Stickers from Discord will not populate in Jamspace Whiteboard.
Q: Why is my image failing to upload?
A: There are many reasons why an image upload might fail, such as incorrect file type or we've detected a possible Community Guidelines violation. If you are experiencing an unexpected problem please report a bug to us.
Q: How can I see who placed an object in Jamspace Whiteboard?
A: Desktop: Press on any object to open a menu, you will see options to edit the selection, and the username and avatar of who placed it.
Mobile: Tap any object to open a menu, you will see options to edit the selection, and the username and avatar of who placed it.
Q: How do I report abusive content from Jamspace Whiteboard?
A: If you encounter a violation of our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines inside of Jamspace Whiteboard we ask that you report this behavior to us.
If the violation happened within a server (rather than DM or group chat), you can also reach out to the server’s moderators, who may be able to respond immediately and help resolve your concerns.
To report an object (image, text, drawing, sticky note, sticker, or GIF) on the Jamspace Whiteboard:
- Select on the object or multiple objects in violation (multi-select is only available on desktop.)
- Press on the “...” button on the toolbar menu at the bottom
- Select Report and fill out the report with the reasons for reporting the object.
- Optional: You can check the checkbox to hide that object from your personal view of the board – it will continue to show for all others that have not reported and chosen to hide it.

Q: How do I view/delete my Activities on Discord data?
A: You can view your data for Discord-developed Activities like Jamspace Whiteboard through the Discord Privacy and Safety settings by requesting all of your data. To power the experience, Jamspace Whiteboard may access and temporarily store certain data in accordance with our Privacy Policy once you join the Activity, including:
- Discord ID
- Avatar
- Username
- The boards, including the content added to them
For Activities with data that persists across multiple sessions (like with Jamspace Whiteboard, Chess in the Park or Checkers in the Park), the data may be retained across sessions.
You can delete content you’ve added to a Jamspace board from inside the board.
Deleting your Discord account will also delete your identifying information and aggregate or anonymize other information (including content you’ve added inside the Activity) as described in our data retention policy. Any content (boards created, text, stickers, drawings, etc.) you added to Jamspace Whiteboard will no longer be tied to your deleted account.
